Become a Patent Attorney - We support you
Patent attorneys play a key role in shaping the future by protecting one of the most valuable assets of our time: intellectual property. To encourage more women to pursue careers in this exciting and impactful field, we are proud to support the European Patent Office's new Candidate Support Programme (CSP). This initiative is designed to empower talented young professionals on their journey to becoming patent attorneys while building a strong and lasting network for training and mentorship.
Candidates are selected by a national committee made up of experts from the Austrian Patent Office, the Austrian Chamber of Patent Attorneys, aws, FFG and Network IP Austria.
As a selected participant, you will benefit from a wide range of valuable support provided by the European Patent Office:
- Full coverage of the examination fees
- Funding for the comprehensive three-year virtual training programme ( € 27,500 per participant)
- One-on-one coaching from experienced European patent attorneys, alumni and former EPO examiners
- Access to specialized learning paths, including hands-on patent drafting training
As an applicant, you bring with you a strong foundation in technical and legal thinking, motivation, and a clear sense of purpose. After passing the exam, you will have the opportunity to give back by contributing at least 20 hours to future coaching activities - a great way to support the generation through the programme's "pay-it-forward" model.
