Before filing for a patent, trademark, or design, it’s always worth asking: which rights already exist? Doing a thorough search is an essential first step in the application process.
That’s why we have completely redesigned the see.ip database search. It now brings together all the essential tools for researching patents, trademarks, and designs in one place.
What’s new?
see.ip is now a lot faster and works well on smartphones and tablets. Search results can be compiled selectively and exported directly as a CSV or Excel file. Even large datasets are easy to handle – you can download up to 2,000 results at a time.
Another useful feature is the ability to share search results and filters via a web address. Filters can also be adjusted at any time to refine searches, and the new image carousel makes it easier to view all registered designs.

To help users make the most of see.ip, the IP Academy offers online seminars. On 29 April, the seminar "Patent Searching Made Easy" will demonstrate how to efficiently search for patents using see.ip, Espacenet, and DEPATISnet.
On 5 May, "Trademark Searching Made Easy" will focus on identifying earlier trademarks and selecting the appropriate Nice classes for an application. Both seminars are offered free of charge and held online.
