What is a Trademark Similarity Search?
A Trademark Similarity Search checks whether there are already similar or identical trademarks to yours. This takes into account all applied-for or registered trademarks relevant to the Austrian market – including Austrian, international, and EU trademarks. Additionally, company names with the same spelling are listed.
You can freely choose the time period you want us to review.
You can also conduct a simple trademark search yourself in publicly accessible, free databases.
Here’s how it works
Simply fill out the online form and provide us with the most important information regarding the trademark to be searched. For the search, we need:
- the wording of the trademark
- an image of the trademark (as a JPG)
- the relevant goods and service classes according to the Nice Classification
As a result, you will receive a search report in electronic form listing the identified trademarks, including details regarding their owners as well as the associated classes of goods and services. Additionally, we provide you with direct links to the relevant registries as well as a commercial register search.
You will typically receive the complete report within approximately 24 hours (on business days).

How much does a Trademark Similarity Search cost?
The Trademark Similarity Search costs €105 for five classes, with an additional €25 for each additional ten classes or part thereof.
