Payment of renewal fees

Trademarks can last indefinitely. However, you must renew the protection every ten years. Upon registration, your trademark is protected for ten years from the filing date. The first renewal fee is due at the end of the tenth year of protection and must be paid in advance. The due date for the renewal fee is based on the date of the trademark application. The Patent Office reminds trademark owners or their representatives of the need for renewal six months before the end of the protection period.

Alternatively, you can also transfer the fee due directly to our account. Please include the registration number or file number in the payment reference, along with the note “renewal fee.”

This is possible within two months after the obstacle ceases to exist, but no later than twelve months after the deadline has expired. The application must state the circumstances that prevented meeting the deadline and provide supporting evidence. At the same time as filing the application, the action that should have been taken within the missed deadline must be completed.
